I am interested in organizing a fashion show in Rochester, NY that would feature alternative fashions, not necessarily goth or futuristic clothing, but anything that would involve straying from the norm. If you think that you can be a model, or are a designer, photographer, ANYONE who is interested in helping out, please let me know! I have experince hosting fashion shows in the past in Buffalo, NY

I am looking for about 15 female models and 5 male models.
Sizes small to medium (this includes bottoms) in female.
Men can be large, but must be in good shape/good health (not muscle men though :P)

This is a private invite, but if you have someone else in mind that you think would be interested in modeling you can give me their info.

The date of this event is not yet set, but I'm looking to do this at the beginning of December, most likely on a Sunday so as not to interfere with any Vertex outtings. Or maybe Patty will let me just have the event AT Vertex. But I'm hoping to have it at Artisan Works. Either way I'll let you know.

Please let me know if you can particpate, and what your measurements are if so, by the end of next week Thursday the 16th, as I need to get measurements to the designers by this time. You can email your measurements to me at: arconnor1@hotmail.com

Thanks to all!
You rock!

Iszolocope
www.iszoloscope.net/
Iszoloscope is an industrial band from Aylmer, Quebec, currently based in Montreal. Iszoloscope's music ranges from harsh, rhythmic noise to ambient soundscapes. The band has performed at Germany's Maschinenfest festival and released several albums and EPs on the Ant-Zen record label.
...
Iszoloscope was created in 1999, when Yann Faussurier and François Bénard met while working at a radio station as DJs. Bénard left the radio field just before the release of their first record, Coagulating Wreckage, and Faussurier has continued the project. In 2007 Faussurier was joined by Guillaume Nadon for live performances as well as the anticipated new Iszoloscope album. They have been working together ever since.

Ad*Ver*Sary
www.ad-ver-sary.com/
Ad·ver·sary is an industrial project fronted by Jairus Khan, hailing from Ottawa, Canada. Ad·ver·sary has joined several acts on tours of the United States and Canada, including Iszoloscope, Terrorfakt, Antigen Shift, DJ leslie, and Adam X. His remix work includes material from Iszoloscope, Converter, Cyanotic and Urusai.

In 2008, Ad·ver·sary signed to the Tympanik Audio label to release his debut album Bone Music, which was also made available as a free download under Creative Commons licensing. The critically-acclaimed album was mastered by Yann Faussurier of Iszoloscope, containing remixes by Antigen Shift, Tonikom, and Synapscape.

Khan's sister is the Juno nominated artist Eternia.

The Table

The Table is an ambient/electronic trio consisting of Craig Marlowe and Chris Hine (both of Rochester) and Jeremy Dziedzic (Syracuse). Live, the trio performs an intelligently crafted mix of improvised atmospheres drawn from electronic and electro-acoustic instrumentation. An open platform leaves the members free to explore a number of directions during a given set with the only imposed limitation being that the players chosen instruments must all fit on, and be played on, a single table. Using only an available table the trio must not only utilize the space effectively but, in most cases, creatively.

So I gave in and I started a website devoted to the Rochester Goth Industrial Scene.

http://www.meetup.com/rochestergoths/

It is in it's initial stages, but I'll be adding more stuff as soon as I can!
There is a calendar of events.
(if i don't have something up there you can email me thru the site to let me know to add it)
You can upload your own photos to the site for events.
You can upload files to share with other members.
There's a message board you can post to.
And I may even start a few polls.

Please join, it's free.
Please tell all your goth industrial friends about it and get them to join.

Thanks for your help!!!
I feel that Rochester goths would find this site useful and I hope you do too!

Folk and/or Folk-Punk [19 Jun 2009|03:58pm]

laurengill
This will probably be heavily cross-posted, but all of the Buffalo communities seem to be dead here... eh.

Anyway, I'm coming to visit Buffalo soon and will be there June 30th-July 7th. I grew up there but haven't lived there as a teenager and young adult so I don't know what is worth checking out in the city. Music-wise, I'm very into folk-punk (and I know Halo Fauna/Eric Ayotte play in Buffalo on occasion, I just don't know where) and folk in general and am looking toward shows/people into that sort of thing.

Additionally, any places that you think are worthy of checking out (whether vegan restaurants, worthwhile parks, any and all art collectives!!, CHEAP COLLEGE STUDENT THINGS) please let me know.

Sorry if this isn't entirely appropriate, mod(s).
